What role do the AmeriCorps VISTA Cadre members play?
A*VISTA Cadre members volunteer in community-based organizations focused on building capacity, while identifying and addressing needs in their respective communities. VISTA
Cadre members help to convene community members, youth and youth practitioners in an effort to raise awareness and shape policy around positive youth development in the state of New Mexico. They also help create and implement quality youth programming to enhance the quality of life for young people across the state.
How does the AmeriCorps VISTA Cadre Project impact New Mexico?
As a statewide initiative, the VISTA Cadre Project helps support Regional Point Organizations (RPO) strategically placed throughout the state. These partnering agencies of the Forum act as “satellite” agencies utilized to plan community events, host regional trainings and town hall meetings.
